In Spite of It All

No two people were ever less likely to succeed in either marriage or life as Francine and myself . For this reason I have titled this book “In Spite of It All”. We have faced many obstacles along the path of life. Luckily we either didn’t realize them at the time or chose to ignore them. Some of this book is written by Francine in her own words. Much of the content we had discussed in preparation for us each writing our own story.

I chose the idea of making it one story after Francine passed away. I felt like it would give me the best showcase for listing the achievements of this most remarkable woman. While I have made an attempt at keeping times and dates accurate, there is probably a lot of errors.

Most of the names mentioned are the actual names of the people involved. In some cases we couldn’t remember the correct name or changed it to protect the guilty.

Also I have chosen not to follow a time line but to switch back and forth along the 100 plus years covered in this story.
