Than me but looked much older and oh so pretty. She had peaches & cream complexion, All the boys started to want to date her. She was to young to date but we would go out to Reagan Park and Lakeside Park and meet guys and dance, swim, and just have fun. We both loved to dance and back then no one thought anything about two girls dancing together so is we didn’t have a boy to dance with we would dance together.

Lethia had met a boy named Charles Chester and they wanted to go on a picnic out to Lakeside Park. Of course daddy had to take them and mama and daddy would not let her go unless I went along, because she was so young. Charles had invited his nephew who was actually a couple of years older. This was the first time I had been introduced to Jack, ever though I had seen him at Reagan’s Park a few weeks earlier. At that time I thought he was e ither drunk or crazy and although he tried to talk to me I tried my best to ignore him. He had an earring on one ear and had a straw hat and cane. He was more normal looking at Lakeside and I was not as scared of him. We went for a canoe ride that afternoon and there came a sudden downpour and we were soaked. We got back to the shore and built a fire in a bar-b-que pit to dry out. I had on a sweater and it dried out everywhere except where my brassiere was. I was so embarrassed .

Jack and I went on a couple of more “dates” with Lethia and Charles. Then they broke up and Jack and I started dating. Then Lethia met Jodie “Ray” Price and the four of us would go out together. We went together for 9 or 10 months before we were married.
